Grave clothesOn Easter Sunday David Cook spoke at our gathering.  Below are the notes from his message.  I have left them pretty much unedited but I did fiddle with formatting a  bit.


We read the Easter story in our Bible’s and have all kind of good feelings and experiences about God’s grace but sometimes we fail to appreciate what it was like.

In some ways the Biblical record is very clinical.

Go back almost 2,000 years and what was is really like for the women and the disciples and the followers of Yeshua. This is his Jewish name.

Early on the first day after the Passover Mary Magdalene or Miriam, Mary the mother of James, Salome and Joanna went to the tomb.

They were going to anoint the body of Jesus for a Jewish funeral and on the way they wondered who would help them to move the stone. (more…)
