Yeshua the Light of the WorldWhen Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

When Jesus calls us to follow him it is a call to be his disciple; to learn from him and in learning from hi m to become more and more like him

Our discipleship to Jesus shapes us.  And when we talk about light and darkness our first response is guilt.  For some of us it is a twinge of guilt.  For others amongst us it is an overwhelming sense of guilt.  And after the guilt comes shame.

We all recognise some of the darkness in us.  We all feel a bit guilty because of some of the things we have done.  Perhaps some of those things we continue to do.  We all have jealousy, lust, anger. We seek revenge.  We all have our pet hates, our pet peeves.  We all have our little desires, our little lusts.  We all have our dirty little secrets.   (more…)
